Court Dimensions[1]

  • Measures 40 meters by 20 meters (44 yards by 22 yards)

 

 

Important Lines[2]

  • 4 meter line (Goalkeeper Restraining Line)
  • 6 meter line (Goal Area)- This line is an arc that completely encloses the Goal Area.
  • 7 meter line (Penalty Throw Line)
  • 9 meter line (Free Throw Line)- This line is a dotted arc that encloses the area 9 meters from the goal. 
    • For more information on violations concerning these lines see the rules or officiating pages. 
    • All measurements are made from the center of the baseline.

 

 

Other Useful Information

  • Team Handball is always played on hard surfaced courts. 
  • The goals are placed exactly between the two sidelines. 
  • The goal measures 3 meters wide by 2 meters high.
